Noah Anderson Griffin was born to James Acy Greenlee Griffin and Mary Gillian Bowers Griffin in Jewett, Texas. He was affectionately called "Little Noah" by his family due to the fact that his Grandfather and Uncle were both also named Noah. During World war I he performed active service with his US Navy Reserve Unit. Noah married Corinne Jones, a school teacher, of Leon County and in the 1930 Breckenridge, Stephens County Census he and Corinne were living with their baby son, James. Over the years, Noah used his woodworking skills to make a living, working in construction and cabinetry. Noah and Corinne remained together until his death in 1962 at the age of 70.
