"A Good Hope For The Future"
William Curtis Payne gave the land for a cemetery at Good Hope Church in the spring of 1856 near the time of his wife Sarah's death. A Baptist church had been established in the 1840's and a school was held there at various times. The community of Robbins Crossroads had settlers from the Carolina's, Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky who had moved there with the "good hope" for the future.
