Velma Gladys Lawson Rounsavall, 95, went to Glory on Aug. 31, 2009. She was born Oct. 8, 1913, in Pendleton, the third child of Allie Pearl Wiley and Dee Roy Lawson.

Velma married Robert Jack Rounsavall on May 25, 1935.

She was preceded in death by parents; husband; and siblings, Arthur Lawson; Andy and Loretha Lawson; Ella and Raymond Lawson; Irene and Luther Paroline; Luke and Loretta Lawson; Buck Lawson; Dorothy and CB Lambright; Winford Lambright; daughter-in-law, Dale Rounsavall; grandchildren, Toni and Gene Crawford; great-granddaughter, Lindsey Peyton Goen.

Velma is survived by her children, Bob and Ann Rounsavall, of Mansfield; Johnny Rounsavall, of Athens; Carolyn Sue Henry, of St. Joseph, Mo.; Allie Annelle Denison; Barbara and Mike Green; Mary and Rick Surratt, all of Grand Prairie; one sister, Lorene Lambright, of Athens; 24 grandchildren, 25 great- grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held on Friday, at 11 a.m., at Central Baptist Church, 200 South Prairieville, Athens. Burial will follow at Athens Cemetery. The grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
