Funeral Services For Slain Men Held Friday
Funeral services for D. W. Hamilton and his son, William Earle, were held in the city auditorium at Rochester Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with over two thousand people attending the last rites of the father and son. The services were conducted by J. S. Ligon pastor of the Church of Christ, assisted by Rev. J. E. Harrell pastor of the First Methodist Church and Rev. A. L. Heath, pastor of the First Baptist Church. The services were very impressive, and beautiful floral wreaths were banked about the biers of the father and son in profussion. Interment was in the Rochester cemetery.
Surviving the slain men are the mother and widow, Mrs. D. W. Hamilton, and her two daughters Misses Fave and Allie and two sons, Orville and Ervin, who have the tender heartfelt sympathy of our citizenship in their deep sorrow.

FUNERAL SERVICES HELD AT TABERNAGLE
GREAT CROWN PRESENT
The largest number of people
that ever met in Rochester for a
funeral service gather at the
tabernacle last Friday afternoon
to pay the last tribute of respect
to D. W. Hamilton and his son,
Earle, who were killed Wednesday
night of last week, Dr. D. S.
Ligon, minster of the Church of
Christ, was in charge of the ser-
vices, assisted by the pastors of
the Baptist and Methodist
churches, Rev. A. L. Heath, and J.
E. Harrell and H. L. Matheny
Dr. Ligon made a fine talk, com-
menting especially on the splendid
citizenship of the elder Hamilton
and his Christian lifem but spoke
highly of the young man who
gave his life for telling the truth.
Fully 1500 people were present
to view the remains and show
their friendship and sympathy on
such a sad and lamantable oc-
casion.
After the funeral services the
remains of the two were carried to
the Rochester cemetery for inter-
ment, followed by a large con-
course of sorrowing and sympa
thizing friends.
The editor of the Reporter,
with other friends, can not find
words adequate enough to express
our sympathy to the heart-broken
family and relatives. It seems
hard enough to give one of the
family up but when two are laid
away at the same time following
atragic death, it seems that it is
almost too much for human frail-
ty to bear. But we trust that the
Great father who said "Blessed
are those who mourn, for they shall
will be comforted." Will speak com????
?????? surdened sould.
