Funeral Friday for Flippin tornado victim

Rudine B. Wood, 47, died Monday (Nov 18) at her home in Flippin, the victim of a tornado. A homemaker, she had been a resident of the Twin Lakes Area all her life. She moved from Mountain Home in 1983. She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

Born Oct 28, 1938 at Calico Rock, she was the daughter of Lily Ivy Jones Bramlett and James Frank Bramlett. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, James Earl Wood.

She and John Wallace Wood were married Aug 28, 1955 at Melbourne. He resides at the home.

Other survivors include one son, John W. Wood Jr. of Caney, Kan.: two daughters, Anna F. Hurst of Wynona, Okla. and Brenda K. Smith of Ridgedale, Mo; four brothers, James Bramlett and Jarvis Bramlett, both of Kansas City, Mo., Hayden Bramlett of Tulsa, Okla. and L.J. Bramlett of Mountain Home; three sisters, Aline Miller of Kansas City, Pauline Sears of South Bend, Ind., and Geraldine Milner of San Antonio, Texas; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Kirby Funeral Home Capel with Rev. Alvie Richmond officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today. Interment will take place at Galatia Cemetery in Norfork.
