Betty Mae Cox, age 78 of Rensselaer, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009 at the Porter Hospital, Valparaiso, IN.
Born in Shelby, IN on October 16, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Arvil and Sadie (Young) Estill.
Betty had lived in Rensselaer for 13 years, also having lived in New Elliott, Dyer, Morocco and Monticello, IN. On May 28, 1960 in Hammond, Indiana Betty was married to Donald D. Cox who preceded her in death on July 30, 2009. Betty was a homemaker and a member of the Shelby Senior Citizens group.
She is survived by six children: Paul (Marie) Stinnett of Bryon, TX, Georgia (Al) Williamson of Goodyear, AZ, Royce (Jeff) Buresh of Sedona, AZ, Denise Trammell of Canton, GA, Tammie (Randy) Goehler of San Diego, CA and Donald Cox of Lafayette, IN; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers: John (Georgianne) Estill of Valparaiso, IN and Jack (Joyce) Estill of Mesa, AZ; and two sisters: Taddiann (Charles) Davis of Hammond and Terri DesLauriers of Hebron.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers: Gene, Robert and Roy.
Friends may call at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Friday, September 4, 2009 from 2:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Paul Baggerly officiating.
