William Hills Pearson, aged 83 years, died at the home of his nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Skeede in this city on July 25, 1941, after a several months illness.

Mr Pearson was born in the town of Clearfield, Juneau County, Wisconsin on December 26, 1857. Most of his life was spent in and around New Lisbon, with the exception of a few years spent in the state of Washington. He was in the employ of the C.M. & St. P. Ry for many years. "Bill" as he was familiarly called by intimate friends held the respect of everyone who knew him. He was honest generous and kind and always spoke a good word for everyone.

Mr. Pearson was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Brethren of that fraternity had charge of the funeral which was held at the Lamson Funeral Home last Sunday afernoon. The Rev. A. R. Klein, pastor of the M.E. churchcof this city officiated. Masonic rites were held at the grave in the New Lisbon cemetery.

Mr. Pearson is survived by two sons, Lloyd of Tacoma, Washington, Roland of Portland Oregon, a sister Mrs. Carrie Wolcott of Milwaukee; a brother, Charles Pearson, Los Angeles, California and other relatives and many friends.

Those from away who attended the funeral were, Mrs. Carrie Wolcott, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Klinker, Mauston, Mr and Mrs. R. Curtis, Portage.
