T J Mawhorter 81, R. 1, Wawaka, died Wednesday in Alfran Nursing Home, Columbia City. He was born June 7, 1892 in Wawaka to Rev. Thomas J. and Mrs. Arminda (Rendel) Mawhorter. He married Agnes Evans June 18, 1927 in Kendallville. He retired from McCray Refrigeration in 1964 and farming in 1952. He was a Navy veteran of WW I, where he was an electrician first class. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Dorothy, Christian Academy, Tokyo, and Sarah Early, Dayton, Ohio; three sons, Richard J., Cincinnati, Rev. Edward E., Owosso, Mich., and T. J. Jr., Chatsworth, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Marquis, Enid, Okla., and Mrs. Roy Snider, Elkhart; one brother, Dwight, Wawaka; and 10 grandchildren. Two brothers and four sisters preceded him in death. Services Saturday at Cosperville Baptist Church. Burial, Cosperville Cemetery
