Percy E. Fehlman, aged 41, veteran of World War II died at the Warren General Hospital shortly after one o'clock Sunday morning from sulfuric acid poisoning. according to information given Coroner Ed Lowrey, Mr. Fehlman drank acid drained from a battery early Saturday morning at the home of his brother Lyle, who resides on Route 27, near Pittsfield. Emergency antidotes were administered at the home and later he was brought to the hospital in a serious condition. It was the second time he had attempted to take his own life since being dischaged from the service.
Mr. Fehlman enlisted for service in the World War January 7, 1943. He was wounded in March 1944, during the battle on Luzon, and was discharged in July 1946.
His injury had given him considerable trouble since his discharge but in spite of his suffering he had worked steadily at the National Forge and Ordnance co. He is survived by his father, Harvey, of Youngsville, brother Lyle at Pittsfield and a sister Mrs. Paul Scavone, Buffalo, N.Y.
