Senator W. M. Igou, as resident of Lake County for the past twenty-five years, was born at Ringold, Georgia, on September 28, 1871, son of Jackson Douglas and Lucretia Whitman Igou.

Senator Igou's political career is particularly deserving of mention: he served one term as a member of the Board of County Commissioners of Lake County, and one term in the Lower House of the State Legislature, and fourteen years as a member of the State Senate, a record probably unequalled in the history of Lake County.

Senator Igou is a member of the Rotary Club, is a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the Knights of Pythias. He was married at Grand Island to Annie Netherland, and has three children: Willie (Mrs. Howard Gamble), Douglas, and Hugh.
