Billy C. Capps, 60, died August 31, 2009 at Ray Hickey Hospice House, Vancouver, Washington, after a long illness. He was born in Bakersfield, CA, March 18, 1949 to Mazel and Benjamin Capps.
Bill lived in the Vancouver area for the past 34 years. He proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He worked for the Federal Government, most recently at Bonneville Power Administration from where he retired in August 2007.
Bill and Pam enjoyed cruising in Mexico and the Carribean and also loved seeing the country traveling in their 5th wheel with family and friends.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Pamela; mother, Mazel Richardson; sister and brother-in-law Sandi and Dick VanAlstyne; son, Billy Capps and brothers, Billy Lewis and Jerry Richardson. Step families include: Todd, Tamra, Keaton and Emberlee McPherron; and Craig, Lucille, and Eleanor Haugen.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Trudi Ingram and step-daughter, Kristin Haugen.
A funeral service will take place at St. James Catholic Church in Vancouver on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 12:10 pm.
A private burial will be in Maple Valley, WA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ray Hickey Hospice House at 2112 E Mill Plain Blvd, Vancouver, WA 98661-4328.
