ARCHIE P. BROCK, CAIRO, VETERAN OF CIVIL WAR, DIES
Archie P. Brock, 88, veteran of the Confederate army and life-long Randolph county resident, died about 7:25 o'clock last night at his home five miles northeast of Cairo, following a stroke of paralysis a week ago.
Mr. Brock is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ewing Alexander and Mrs. R. A. Alexander, both of Jacksonville. Miss Flossie Rogers of Moberly is a niece. Mrs. Brock, the former Mary Rogers, to whom he was married in 1866, died March 3, 1923.
With the exception of the years spent in service with the Confederate army during the Civil War, Mr. Brock spent his entire life on the farm on which he died. It was his birthplace. He united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Old Salem in 1868 and was an elder in that church for more than 40 years.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock from Union Church at Cairo and burial will be at Union Cemetery.
