Mrs. Augusta Young
Adams county lost another of its earliest pioneers this week in the death of Mrs. Augusta Young, who passed away Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Langenheder, at the age of
82 years. The funeral was held from the Haight chapel Tuesday, the Rev. Henry Attenborough officiating. Mrs. Amanda Bier sang two favorite hymns of the deceased, a member of the Christian church for many years. Interment was in the Ritzville cemetery.
Augusta Stowe was born in Ohio, Aug. 25, 1849, and upon coming west her family first settled at Goldendale, Wash. She later made her home with her sister, Mrs. Anna Sutton, coming
here in 1888, and was married May 1, 1890, at Spokane. Her husband, Walter Young, died in 1914.
Mrs. Young is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Langenheder, with whom she made her home for 12 years; one son, Ray, as well as four grandchildren.
