Funeral service for John Jacob Werttemberger, 83 who died January 26, in the Ritzville General hospital, were held in the chapel of the Newman-Danekas Funeral Home at two o'clock Saturday afternoon with the Rev. R. Kirschenmann officiating. Burial was in The Ritzville Memorial cemetery.

Mr. Werttemberger was born in Kolb Russia January 1, 1866 and came to American in 1892, settling on a homestead nine mile from Ritzville in the Packard area. Later he helped construct the Ritzville Trading company's buuilding and warehouse run by Kalkwarf and Clodius.

He is surived by one daughter, Alma, at home, four sons, Norman W., John (Tiny) and William all of Ritzville, and Richard of Seattle; a brother, George of Walla Walla and two granchildren.
