Funeral Services for Mrs. C. Walter Held Here Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Conrad Walter, a resident of the Ritzville and Odessa communities for 57 years, were held at the Zion Congregational church Monday.
Rev. R. W. Rieger officiated. Interment followed at the Ritzville Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers were Gerald Koch, Aaron Koch, Wayne Lenhart, Kerwin Ziemer, Vince Nafziger and Bill Schmidt.
Mrs. Walter died Saturday at the Adams County Memorial hospital after a short illness. She was 82.
She was born in Frank, Russia, April 27, 1878, and had lived in Ritzville and Odessa for the last 57 years after coming to the United States. She and her husband farmed for many years. He preceded her in death in 1956.
Mrs. Walter was a member of the Zion Congregational church.
Surviving are seven daughters, Mrs. Art Stenckle of Colfax, Mrs. Hannah Ils, Mrs. Helen Ziemer and Mrs. Martha Koch, all of Ritzville, Mrs. Freda Lind of Ellensburg, Mrs. Alma Koch of Wenatchee and Mrs. Loretta Pankow of Maple Valley; two sons, Henry of Marlin and Sam of Wenatchee; 22 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
