After the death of Rachel, he married Helen M. Anderson.

They were married May 27, 1860 in Lawrence County, Alabama and had the following children: McDonald "Mack", Clarence, Lucy and Minnie Gray Alexander.

Died, at his residence, 5 miles northwest from Moulton, at 6 1/2 o'clock p.m. on the 5th inst., without a struggle. George W. ALEXANDER, aged 57 years and 9 months. He was a devoted husband, an indulgent father, a kind neighbor and true citizen.
