KENDALLVILLE - Services for Walter H. Casselman, 79, of Rt. 1, who died at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday in McCray Memorial Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Berhalter-Hutchins Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth J. Gerike, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, where the Moose Lodge will conduct services at 8 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the Noble County Cancer Society.
He was born on June 1, 1900, at Waterloo, Ind., living in Kendallville for the past 53 years. He married Rebah Vian on Sept. 7, 1921. She died in 1955. He married Orpha Mae Mead on May 8, 1959. She died in 1969. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Lureign) Beights and Mrs. Lee (Nancy) Streich both of Kendallville; two sons, Harold of Kendallville and Jerry of Decatur; a stepson, Donald Mead of Kendallville; 24 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Bowman of Garrett, Mrs. Walter (Viola) Laisure of Waterloo, and two brothers, Lester and Orval Casselman both of Waterloo. He was retired from McCray Refrigerator Co. He was a member of Cedar Lake Church of Christ and the Kendallville Moose Lodge No. 1301.
