John H. Bender
In the 75th year of his age, from paralysis, at his home, 422 East Lancaster Avenue, East Downingtown, Saturday evening, at 8:40, John H. Bender passed away. He is survived by his wife Lillie, and five children: Mrs. Clara Dunn, West Chester; Clifton Bender, Bryn Mawr; Warren L. Bender, Mrs. Lydia Jones and Harry Bender, at home. Also one sister, Mrs. Wm. VanOsten, Glen Mills; two brothers, Levi Bender, West Chester, and Nathan Bender, of Berks County. He leaves eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He had resided in Downingtown for the past fifty-five years. He was a tinsmith by trade. Two years ago he celebrated his golden wedding anniversary, and had been in good health up until his attack about three weeks ago. He was a member of the Downingtown Central Presbyterian Church, and had a large circle of friends who will mourn his loss.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral without further notice from his later residence, 422 E. Lancaster Avenue, on Wednesday, March 3. Meet at the house at 2 o'clock p.m. Interment at Northwood Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday evening.
