Mary Maughan Potts, 87, of Hixson, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002, in a local health care facility. She was a member of Hixson United Methodist for 66 years and a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lamar Potts; parents, John and Delia Maughan; and brother, Herschel Maughan.
Mrs. Potts is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Doris and Marion Sherrill, of Hixson, Nadine and James Johnston, of Graysville, Tenn., and Marilyn and Tom Davis, of Virginia Beach, Va.; grandchildren, Kim Adams, of Knoxville, Jennifer Kale and Kelly Watts, of Hixson, Jill Smith, of Soddy-Daisy, Eric McNair, of Durham, N.C., and Tracey Johnson, of Portsmouth, Va.; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Johnny Maughan, of Hixson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Martin and Dr. John Bacon officiating.
Interment will be in Schneitman Cemetery....
