Frederick "Fred" C. Boeckmann, 69 of Albert Lea, Minnesota, formerly of Waterloo, Iowa died on August 24, 2009 at the Albert Lea Medical Center in Albert Lea.
Fred was born on December 2, 1939, the son of Herman and Meta (Hartman) Boeckmann. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's U.C.C. Siegel, rural Waverly, Iowa. He served in the US Army. He attended the machinist program at Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo, Iowa. He worked at John Deere in Waterloo for 30 years, retiring in 1999. Fred enjoyed playing the accordion, fishing and cooking.
He is survived his children, Sherry (Scott) Farland of Waverly, Iowa; Joel Boeckmann of Waverly, Iowa; Julie Boeckmann of Albert Lea, Minnesota and Scott Boeckmann of Waverly, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren; a sister, Marion (Pete) Scharnhorst of Waverly, Iowa; brother, Norman (Monie) Boeckmann of La Porte City, Iowa; and a sister, Ruth (Don) Rowe of Fredericksburg, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roy Boeckmann; sister, Maxine Wedeking and an infant son, Frederick Carl Boeckmann.
Funeral services will be at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, with Pastor Joyce Sandberg of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Following services Fred will be cremated and Burial of his Cremains will be at Garden of Memories in Waterloo, Iowa.
