Verl W. Gruver, 96, of Ocala, passed away August 31, 2009 at Lifecare Center of Ocala. Born in Winfield, Iowa he came to this area 19 years ago from Muscatine, Iowa. He was an Iowa University Alumni, a US Navy Veteran of WWII and was retired from Stanley Consultants as an electrical engineer. Mr. Gruver was a member of Countryside Presbyterian Church, Ocala, the American Legion, the NRA, the Iowa Electrical Engineers and also was a farmer and enjoyed following politics. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte M. Gruver and is survived by his daughters, Mary K Ziegenhorn and husband Gary of Ocala and Suzanne Leib and husband Gerald of Erie, PA; granddaughters, Amy Martin, Sara Dunnam, Mary Moreira and Julie Nassif; great grandchildren, Kayle, Tanios, Gabriella and Andre Nassif, Alexis Moreira, Xavier and Alec Martin and Gavin Dunnam. He will always be remembered for his loving smile and caring heart. A celebration of his life will be held at ROBERTS FUNERAL HOMES, Bruce Chapel West (6241 SW SR 200, Ocala 854-2266) on Sunday (Sept. 6th) at 2PM with inurnment to follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Marion County PO Box 4860 Ocala, Fl 34478.
