Arthur Laird Stone, of Wills Point, Texas, passed away on Aug. 12, 2009 at the age of 74.

He was born in Edna, Kansas to Edward and Eunice Miller Stone on Oct. 3, 1934. He retired from Western Electric after 25 years, and worked for the Terrell Reserve Police Force and also worked for Randall Noe as a parts runner. Mr. Stone lived to work, provide for his family, and now has the job of being a guardian angel for those he loved.

He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Wauneta Stone; daughter: Cindy Smith and husband Terry of Irving; son: Jeff Stone of Wills Point; brother: T.W. Stone of Edna, Kansas; grandchildren: Steve Beheler, Rachel Smith, and Justin Smith; great-grandchild: Paige Beheler; plus numerous other friends and family.

Mr. Stone was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Genevieve Walters and Marjorie Alloway.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 23 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel. He will be laid to rest Sunday, Sept. 3, in Edna, Kansas between his parents. Guest registry may be signed at www.andersonclaytonbros.com
