Co Founder of Anderson Brothers Manufacturing Co. Dies.
Axel L. Anderson, 75, 1911 Hillcrest Rd., a Rockford Industrialist, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday in his home after a long illness.
Mr. Anderson and two of his brothers organized Anderson Brothers Manufacturing Co. here in 1916.
A resident here for 74 years, he learned his trade as a tool and die maker as a youth in a number of machine shops here, including the Rockford Watch Factory. He produced some of the first dies for the former Sundstrand adding machine firm.
Surviving includ his widow, Florence; a son, Donald; a daughter, Mrs. Roger Greene; a brother, Swan F. Anderson; and a sister, Mrs. Esther Blomquist, all of Rockford.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Fred C. Olson Mortuary, 1001 2nd ave. Burial will be in Arlington Memorial Park. Graveside Masonic services will be held.
