She was born in Dunkirk, on Nov. 24, 1952, the daughter of Carl H. and Beverly (White) Smith of Dunkirk.
Mrs. Pleszewski was a graduate of Forestville Central School, class of 1970. She received her associates degree from Alfred State College in 1972 and in 1995 she received her bachelor's degree from Empire State College, where she was currently working on her master's degree. Mrs. Pleszewski worked as a budget director for the State University at Fredonia for 10 years and she at one time worked in accounts receivable for Welch Foods, Inc., Westfield and as a general accountant for the former AlTech Specialty Steel in Dunkirk.
She received the Outstanding Professional Administration Award from the vice president for aministration of State College at Fredonia, had completed the Chautauqua Leadership Network, class of 2008, was a member of the SUNY-wide Accounting/Budget/Bursar (ABB) Committee, was secretary of the SUNY-wide ABB Technology Subcommittee, was a member of the State Univeristy at Fredonia Federal Credit Union Board and Supervisory Committee, was a member of the Forestville Alumni Committee and a former member of the Forestville Music Boosters. Mrs. Pleszewski was an avid bowler, enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, watching hummingbirds and tending to flowers.
Surviving besides her parents are her husband, Daniel Pleszewski of Forestville, whom she married in St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Forestville on Dec. 16, 1972; two daughters: Kristee Pleszewski of Jamestown and Mrs. Tony (Amy) Gavazzi of Fredonia; and a brother, Kimberly Smith of Dunkirk. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Chad A. Smith.
