Ruby Ellen Hutton Cobler
1909-2009
COLLINSVILLE - Ruby Ellen (King) Hutton/Cobler, 99, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009.
She was born in Grayson County Dec. 21, 1909 to James B. and Bonnie (Phillips) King. She married Clifford Hutton on Aug. 3, 1927, who preceded her in death March 30, 1949. Ruby later married Willie Clyde Cobler May 31, 1959, who also preceded her in death June 23, 1964.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and helping friend. Ruby truly enjoyed helping others whether it was cooking, quilting, or just visiting.
Surviving are her daughter Laverne Walden and husband Melvin of Collinsville; son, James (Jimmy) Hutton and wife Shirley of Aledo; granddaughters, Debbie Smith, Marlene Johnson, and Lisa Reece all of Aledo; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, and sister, Evorie Graham of Collinsville; also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husbands, parents, infant son, Charles Weldon Hutton, granddaughter, Lana (Walden) Roland, and brother Elvin King.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009 at Collinsville Cemetery in Collinsville with Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. There will be no formal visitation. Friends and family may view Mrs. Cobler at the funeral home until the service time.
