In all later records, "Alphonso" is Jesse Filmore Baughman, who was born 5/4/1850. The 1870 Census shows David 50, Lucy 49, Mary 26, Jesse 20, and Alfred 18. in 1870, David owned real estate valued at $50,000 and also had personal property worth $50,000.
David and Lucy also raised their granddaughter, Harriet Newell Baughman. In the 1880 Census, Harriet is 7 and living with David 60 and Lucy 59.
David died in Casey, Clark Cnty IL at the age of 85.
