Bertie M. Dobson, 97, of Sterling, died Dec. 2, 1996 in Sterling.
Visitation and viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Chaney-Walters Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Fri day at Chaney-Walters with the Rev. T.L. Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Dobson was born Sept.30, 1899 to William and Delila (Bloom) Binegar in Garden City,Mo. After attending Kearney State Teachers College, she taught school north of Paxton, Neb.
She married Lyle Dobson on June 25, 1924 in Nebraska. They lived on a farm south of Suther land, Neb. until 1933, when they moved to Hershey, Neb. They moved to Big Springs, Neb. in 1940, and to Sterling in 1951.
She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and Senior Citizens, and was a lifetime member of the Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by three Sons, Bill and wife Dorothy of Sterling, Marion and wife Bette of Fort Collins, and Erwin and wife Harri et of Sterling; two daughters, Arlene Sullivan and husband Gene of Sacred Heart, Minn., and Vivian Engelker and husband Wayne of Julesburg; a brother, Simon Binegar of North Platte, Neb.; a sister, Glenna Curren of North Platte; 23 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchil dren and one great-great grand child.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1981, a son DeVere and wife Ruth; a sister Letha, and a grandson Kelvin.
