Services for Jay L. Kelly, 62, of Redding will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pierce Chapel in Eureka.

Billy Lawrence will officiate.

Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel.

Burial will be at Ocean View Cemetery in Eureka.

Mr. Kelly died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at his residence.

Born July 8, 1940, in Miles City, Mont., he moved to Shasta County in 1994 from Fieldbrook.

He was a mechanic for Louisiana Pacific Lumber Co. in Alaska and California for 15 years, for Arcata Redwood for two years and for Bill Brannon in Humboldt County. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Fieldbrook Volunteer Fire Department for many years, a member of the Fieldbrook Grange and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.

Survivors include wife Minnie; daughters Susan Scott, Theresa Salaty and Amanda, all of Redding; sister Rosalie Hay; parents Virgil and Ethel; and four grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Pierce Chapel in Eureka.
