After Eliza's death in 1863, Henry remarries to Lucy Ellen Gilbert. She is also widowed, after her 1st husband Isaac Jackson Dennon died in the Civil War, with one son William A. Dennon.
Henry and Lucy have four more children together, all daughters: Samantha Jane, Eugenia Catherine, Eva Carrie, and Ida May.
Henry receives a Civil War pension of $15 in 1907, but only after serving time in Leavenworth prison in Kansas for falsely claiming a war injury in a previous application. He lives in a Union solider veterans home in Chicago for one year 1910 - 1911. Two of his children from his first marriage are in Chicago at the time, while his children from his second marriage are in Oklahoma. He dies in the home of his daughter Eva Carrie Miller in Henryetta, OK.
