Thomas was a charter member of Tombstone's Burnside Post, Grand Army of the Republic. He transferred to Negley Post, G.A.R., after he moved to Tucson.
Thomas C. Gregory married Catherine (born 1853 in Mass.). She died in Tombstone and is buried there next to her son, Thomas C. Gregory, Jr. Thomas and Catherine operated a restaurant in Tombstone according to the 1880 Census.
