RATCLIFFE, Lula Belle, 74, of Pearisburg, died peacefully at the home of her daughter Tuesday morning, January 4, 2000. Born in Giles Co. on March 2, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Simon Peter and Alice Whittaker Lawson. She attended The Pembroke Church of God, and was preceded in death by a son, Paul Kenneth Ratcliffe; a sister, Pansy Hudson; and a brother, John Lawson; and three grandchildren. Surviving are two sons, Bobby Lee Ratcliffe & wife, Janet and Arthur Lee Ratcliffe & wife, Dreama, all of Pearisburg; a
daughter, Mary Payne and her friend, Mike Crockett of Pearisburg; three brothers, Earnest Lawson and Robert Lawson, both of Pembroke, and Jessie Lawson of Peterstown, WV; a sister, Nancy L. Sanders of Pembroke; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke with Pastor Dennis Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Angels Rest Memory Gardens in Narrows. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
