Sarah Evelyn Harvey, 94, of Stamford, died October 2, 2005, at an Anson Hospital.
Funeral services were Wednesday, at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, in Stamford, with Rev. Calvin Gray officiating.
Evely6n was born March 20, 1911, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Benjamin and Eunice Carson.
She moved to Stamford in 1921 from Fort Worth. She graduated from Stamford High School in 1927, she graduated from Texas Tech College in 1933, and returned to Stamford and taught school in Stamford for 6 years and New Hope for 1 year.
In 1940, she married Don D. Harvey Jr. in Glendale, CA. They lived in La Canada, CA until 1975, when they returned to Stamford.
She was a member o the Stamford Garden Club, and the First Baptist Church for over 30 years, where she taught the Mary Martha Sunday school class. She was a gardener, a seamstress, and a china painter.
She is survived by son Raymond H. Harvey of Falls Church, Virginia; 2 granddaughters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 sisters - Ella Armstrong, Frances Carson, and Verna Lee Hill; and 2 brothers - Dick Carson and Robert Carson.
