Cecil Len "Skinny" Salvador, 90, died Monday. Nov. 13, 1995, at his home.
The funeral was Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Holyoke. Masonic burial rites were conducted by Haxtun Lodge No. 164 A.F. & A.M. at Holyoke Memorial Park.
Mr. Salvador was born Nov. 22, 1904, to Frank and Bertha May (Hurd) Salvador in UndeT wood, Iowa. In 1916, he and his family moved to the Wages community to farm.
He married Bernice Lenore Guernsey June 23, 1926. They spent a short time working on a farm near Sterling then returned to the Wages communty where they remained until 1937. They moved to the existing farm in the Clarksville community.
Mr. Salvador worked picking corn and threshing for hire. His great love was horses and he broke many in his younger days. He had hoped to ride one more time on his 91st birthday. His greatest joy was his grand-kids and their children.
Mr. Salvador joined the Masonic Lodge in 1948 and be came Master of the Haxtun Lodge in 1961. He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Consistory El Jebel Shrine and the Frida Wilson Chapter No. 136 of the Order of Eastern Star.
He is survived by three daughters, Darlene Hackett of Corvallis, Ore., Eva Merrill of Sterling, and Donna Barber and husband Al of Bennett; a sister, Mary Fern Newbanks of Wray:a brother Perk and wife Muriel of Yuma; sisters-in-law. Lillian and Lorena Salvador of Yuma; a brother-in-law, Frank Lett of Mina, S.D.; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenore; a grandson, Kerry Barber; four brothers, Asa, Elgin, Dick and Harley; a sister, Iona Lett; and sons-in-law Leland (Mary) Barber and Roland Hackett.
