Mrs. Mary J. DeWitt died Feb. 26, 1903 at her home west of Chariton, aged 62 years. The funeral was held from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Williby on Feb. 27, conducted by Rev. Scull.
A husband and five children are left to mourn. The children are, W. R. DeWitt of Illinois; H. H. DeWitt of Lincoln, Nebr.; J. O. DeWitt, Chariton; Mrs. Ira Sylvester, Albia; and Mrs. J. C. Williby, Chariton.
