Born to Olaf & Belle (Eggleston) Peterson in Burley, Idaho, Doris went on to graduate from the University of Oregon with a degree in music.

She married Jay Moberly on December 31, 1976 in Ogden, Utah. Her first married name was Herbert.

Mrs. Moberly was a homemaker and a piano teacher. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and was involved with many humanitarian causes. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, piano and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of Terrebonne; a son, John M. Herbert Jr. of Darby, Mont.; three daughters, Carolyn Messerly of Littleton, Colo., and Emily and Ruth Herbert, both of Redmond; two brothers, Elmer Peterson of San Jose, Calif., and Eugene Peterson of Santa Barbara, Calif.; a sister, Lillie Rhorer of Grants Pass; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
