AMERICUS — Mrs. Iris L. Moore, 78, passed away early Thursday morning, Sept. 25, 2008 at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, in the chapel of Hancock Funeral Home with the Rev. M Kinservik officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. today at Hancock Funeral Home. At other times, friends may call at 120 Moore Road. Born Feb. 18, 1930 in Macon County, Mrs. Moore was the daughter of the late Samuel Sidney Lee and Nancy McLendon Lee. She was a member of County Line Methodist Church and worked for 49 years as a member of the sales staff at the Americus Hardware Co. Survivors include her husband, of Americus, brother, of Schley County; sisters-in-law, of Leslie and of Stone Mountain; nieces and nephews...edited to protect the living.
