Frank Telecky Dies Following Fall on Steps
Frank Telecky died about midnight Tuesday at the Adams County Memorial hospital.
Walking up steps at the front of his home at 608 W. Main Monday night, the long-time Ritzville resident had lost his balance and fallen over backward. He struck his head and a swelling as large as a turkey egg developed.
Frank lost consciousness about 4 a.m. Tuesday and never recovered consciousness.
Funeral arrangements were pending Wednesday afternoon but family members said the day would be Monday. The service will be conducted at St. Mark's Episcopal church, of which the deceased was a long-time member.
Frank Telecky was born in Minnesota July 14, 1882. When he was 16 he came to Ritzville and hired out as a farmhand. Four years later he started farming for himself and continued so until his retirement in 1940.
Through many years Telecky enjoyed excellent health.
Among other things he did was to help in the construction program entailed when St. Mark's church was remodeled. He also treasured his membership in Marcellus Grange, of which he was one of the early members.
Telecky was married January 10, 1916, in Portland to Caroline Elizabeth Olson. Five sons and a daughter were born to the union.
Mrs. Telecky and these six children survive the husband and father as well as a step son, Winston Davis of Spokane.
The surviving sons and daughter are Howard, Clyde, Russell and Stanley of Ritzville; Cecil of Edwall; and Mrs. Raymond (Pearl) Soularie of Seattle. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
