Frank "Baldy" Davis. 60 of Valley City died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, July 31,1994, in Valley City.
He was born January 2,1934, in Florence, son of the late Claude O. and Elizabeth Floyd Davis.
He married Loretta Castleberry in August of 1956 in Pittsfield. He later married Barb Wheeler McDonald on January 10, 1990, in Pittsfield. She survives.
Also surviving are: four daughters, Brenda Whisler of Bluffs, Mrs. Steve (Sheila) VanHyning of Winchester, John and Lila Miller of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Mike (Sandy) Westfall of Griggsville; five sons, Frank D. Davis, Jr, of Meredosia, Randy Davis and Dennis Davis, both of Versailles, and Anthony and Eddie Davis, both of Jacksonville; three stepsons, Steve and Randy McDonald, both of Bradenton, Florida, and Jesse McDonald on Moundsville,West Virginia; 19 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mae DePriest of st. Louis, Missouri, and Faye Watkins of Bowen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisiter and six brothers.
He was a commercial fisherman for many years as well as a self- employed roofer and was a trustee of the Valley City Town Board.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 1994, at the Skinner-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Griggsville. The Rev. Dennis Laughlin officiated. Susan Curry played "Beyond the Sunset" and "Just a Closer Walk With Thee".
Pallbearers were John Miller, Steve VAnHyning, Roland Davis, Bobby Jo Garrison, Lonnie Hearold, and Randy Hearold. Burial was in Blue River Cemetery.
