Clyde Roy Driever was born May 30, 1928 at Watonga to Chester Roy and Bertha L. Bohr Driever and died Sunday September 24, 1995 at Yukon at age 67. He was raised on a farm near Hitchcock and rode a horse to Winnview, a country school with his younger brother. He graduated from Hitchcock Highschool in 1945. After working at various jobs he went to work for the telephone company in Pretty Prarie, Kan., where he married a telephone operator, Edith Geraldine Stuckey. Later, they moved to Broken Arrow, where they raised a family of five children. He was active in the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid bowler, winning many tournaments and trophies. He was also active in coaching a women's softball team that his younger daughter was a member. He spent his last few years in a nursing home in Yukon, where his sister Frances assisted in his care. He was preceded in death by his wife,Jerry; two sons; Clyde Jrs., and Mark Stephen and his father. Survivors include his mother, Bertha Driever, Yukon; two daughters, Mary Mae Anderson and Annette Marie Hazen, both of New Castle, Colo; a son Thomas Patrick Driever, Broken Arrow; two brothers, Joseph Driever, Austin, Texas and Floyd Driever, Watonga and a sister Frances M. Cleveland, Yukon. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, Watonga. The Rev. Carl Janocha will officiate. Services will conclude in the IOOF Cemetery, Watonga under the direction of Wilkinson Mortuary.
