John received a land grant from the state of KY in 1798 of 300 acres on Meshack Creek, Cumberland Co KY. The family moved there from Spartanburg Co, SC abt 1802. The land became part of Monroe Co KY in 1820.

"We're Kin to Them, 1985" by Pansy Page Allison includes history of John & Dorcas and their descendents. The Powhatan Co VA Historical Society also has information about this family and descendents.

In 1850 Dorcas is living in Monroe Co KY in home of dau and husband Malinda and Madison Hardin.
In 1860 she is shown with her son, John Brockman, also in Monroe Co KY.

No confirmed burial information found, placed here in her family "SMITH Cemetery", Monroe Co KY, where her son, Samuel was buried. She may be in the Gregory Cem., Monroe KY., where her dau Malinda and husband were buried. The cemetery was destroyed by the landowner and very few headstones found as most were used as foundation for the landowner's barn.

The following from D.Hardin (Apr 2015), with thanks:
"Also in my Aunts notes she writes that John Page the husband of Dorcas ‘Smith’ Page was buried in Cumberland County and her notes indicate that the Hardin’s may have buried Dorcas with John Page in Cumberland County. ‘Near the Meshack Creek.’ They may have honored her wishes if that is what she wanted. Unfortunately there is no other description of the whereabouts of the graves."
