George R. "Roxy" Dilts, 77, died unexpectedly at 12:30 pm, Saturday, March 6, at his home in Lewistown, Illlinois.
Mr. Dilts has resided in Lewistown 42 years and was a retired employee of the United Electric Coal Co. and member of the United Mine Workers of America.
Born at New Reading, Ohio, November 17, 1887, he was a son of Charles and Martha (Klingler) Dilts. On November 27, 1907, he was married to Nellie Kerrigan, at Sommerset. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, John Dilts, Peoria; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Jackson and Miss Betty Dilts, both of Peoria, and Mrs. Jane Bima, St. David; sever grandchildren; one brother, Edward Dilts, Ada, Ohio; and three sisters, Mrs. Della Mautz, Somerset; Mrs. Alice Miller, Rushville; and Mrs. Jennie Clune, Ada.
Funeral services were held March 9 at the Henry Memorial Home in Lewistown with Father Robert O'Conner, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Burial was made in St. Mary's Cemetery there.
