A.P. Nelson Passes On
Heart Failure Takes Long Time Resident This Morning
The many friends in this city and community were shocked and saddened when the news spread of the sudden death of A.P. Nelson, Thursday morning. Mr. Nelson had been in failing health for some time, but his condition was not thought to be serious. Thursday morning he went out side and not returning his wife going out to look for him found him dead. The immediate cause of death was evidently heart failure.
Mr. Nelson was among the early settlers of the country coming to this country from Denmark, his native country, with his wife in 1882. He settled in Jamestown and has followed his trade, that of wagon maker, cabinet maker and wheelwright here ever since. He was born in Denmark, August 5th, 1842, being 81 years, 7 months and 8 days old at the time of his death. He was married to Miss Christena Christensen, December 14, 1877. To this union were born one son, Jacob J., now of California. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson were members of the Saron Baptist church, which they joined in 1890. Funeral services will be held at the United Presbyterian church Saturday at 2 p.m. Rev. C.E. Carpenter officiating, assisted by Rev. Geo. E. Rainsberger.
