Walter H. Marut, age 53 years, a resident of Lansing, IL, died in St. Mary's Hospital in Ladysmith, WI, on Tuesday.

He was born in Chicago, IL, on July 28, 1915.  He moved with his parents to Weyerhauser, WI, and there he attended school.  At the age of 18 he returned to Chicago where he was employed by the Maremont Corp. for 35 years.  At the time of his death he was a foreman of the company.  Mr. Marut with his wife had come to Radisson to spend their vacation when he was hospitalized.

He was married to Gladys Szarowicz on Aug. 14, 1937, at Radisson.  He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lansing, IL.

Survivors are his wife; 2 sons, Julius of Aurora, IL and Walter, Jr., of Addison, IL; one sister, Mrs. Frank Szarowicz of Radisson; 2 brothers, Joseph Marut of Arlington, VA, and Frank Marut of Weyerhauser, WI, also three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Sacred Heart Catholic church in Radisson at 10 AM Friday with Celebrant Father Eugene Konopka officiating.  Interment was in the Radisson Cemetery.  Recitation of the Rosary was held at the Anderson Funeral Chapel in Hayward on Thursday evening.  Pallbearers were Joseph Stasik, Guy Woods, Dick Chaples, Melvin Skopek, Ben Skopek and Jim Taylor.
