Prominent Jefferson Tp. Farmer Died Last Week

Weeden Hume Succumbs to Kidney Trouble; First of Eleven Children Claimed By Death

Weeden Hume, 65 years old, a well known farmer of Jefferson township, died last Wednesday night, following and extended illness with kidney trouble. The funeral and burial occured at Indian Prairie Friday afternoon.

Mr. Hume was a son of John Hume, a pioneer resident of Jefferson township, who, as township trustee, started the school system in that township. Weeden Hume was the first member of a family of eleven children to be claimed by death. He was a member of the Indian Prairie Baptist church and had resided in Jefferson township all of his life.

Mr. Humes leaves his wife and two sons, John Hume and Will Hume of Trinidad, Colo., who attended the funeral., and Ralph and Pansy, who live at home. The following brothers and sisters also survive; Mrs. Florence Wilkinson of Nashville, Tenn., Louis Hume of Vincennes; Elijah Hume of Haddon township; Joseph Hume of Carlisle, Will Hume of Boonville; Mrs. Anna Beck of Terre Haute, Mrs. Belle Beck, Mrs. Clara Alsman, Mrs. May Taylor and Mrs. Mary McCammon, all of Jefferson township.
