Mikel Rings Jones was born August 7, 1879, Macomb, Illinois, the youngest of ten children, of whom Charles of Wichita and Joe of Woodward survive. He died April 18, 1941, aged 61 years and 8 months.
Mr. Jones moved with is parents from Illinois when he was four. He lived at Ashland, Kansas for two years then moved to Carriezo, Colorado, where he lived for two years, then moved to Trinidad, where he lived for one year, and then removed to Missouri, where he and his family lived a while at both Harwood and Springfield. From Missouri, the family moved to Oklahoma City two yers after the Opening. they lived in the City until the Run was made for the Opening of the Cherokee Strip in 1893. William F. Jones, the father, filed on a claim which became the townsite of Mooreland. Her the family lived until 1908 when they moved to the present home at 122 East Main, Woodward. M. R. , or "Mike" as he was known attended several schools and finished the grades in Mooreland. He worked for the Santa Fe as brakeman for three yeas and has been in the furniture business since 1912.
He did not belong to any organizations or clubs, but preferred to devote al of his time to his business, his friend, his hobby, fishing and hunting. His ideals were Lincoln Will Rogers and Lindbergh.
"Mike" had many friends and was said by all to be a man who minded his own business at all times, spoke kind words of everyone and in his won way practiced the Golden Rule.
He married Hattie Isabel Sage in 1903 and to this union was born one daughter, Lucille Katherine, who is now, Mrs. Perry S. Paisley of South Gate, California. He has two grandsons, Mike and Pat Paisley.
He was married to Jenella Kidd on December 23, 1912, by whom he is survived.
Mike helped care for his aged parents until their deaths in 1919 and 1925, respectively, and since the the his wife's mother, Mrs. Mary B. Kidd has made her home with them. He was kind, considerate and very generous. Poor health the last three years has made mike less and less active, but he rarely missed any time from his store. He was preparing to go to work when he was stricken and lived but a few minutes.
Funeral services are held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Chenoweth Mortuary, with Rev. Earl Stark officiating. Burial was Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock in Elmwood Cemetery.

DIED IN WOODWARD
Funeral services for "Mike" Jones, Woodward furniture dealer, who died of a heart attack Friday morning was held at 3 p.. Sunday in Woodward; Rev. Earl Stark, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating.
Mikel Rings Jones went to Woodward from Mooreland, where he resided with his parents on their homestead on which the original townsite of Mooreland was laid out in 1901. In recent years he operated a mattress factory and furniture store in Woodward. He is survived by his wife, Janella D. Jones.

BURAIL DELAYED UNTIL ARRIVAL OF DAUGHTER
The body of M. R. Jones, was interred in Elmwood Cemetery this afternoon at 2 o'clock. The funeral was conducted at Chenoweth's Mortuary, sat 3 o'clock Sunday by Rev. Earl Stark, but burial was delayed until the arrival of his daughter, Lucille C. Paisley.
