Mrs. Sarah Ellison, widow of Isaac D. Ellison and a pioneer of Labette county died at the home of her daughter Mrs Maude Cornelius in Blackwell, Okla Sunday at 6oclock. She was seized with pluerisy Saturday nooon but rested fairly well saturday night and arose Sunday morning. She walked across the room but complained of pain and lay down again dying immediately. With her husband Mr Ellison came form Ohio to Excelsior neighborhood 7 miles southeast of Cherryvale in July 1871 and had lived on the same farm 42 years. Since her husbands death six years ago she made her home there with two sons Charles and Walter, but spent some time every year visiting her other children. John H Ellison of Parsons, Mrs Cornelius and Mrs Lorena Larrabee in Blackwell, Okla. Another daughter Mrs Hattie Norbom lives in Escondido Cal. Mrs Cornelius was formerly county superintendent of schools for Labette county. Mrs Ellison was born in Akron, Ohio and was 67 years old on the 14th of last February. She was a member of the baptist church. The funeral will be held at Excelsior church Friday at 1 pm conducted by Rev Floyd of Mound Valley. Internment will be in Fairview cemetery here beside the grave of her husband. John H Ellison who formerly lived in Cherryvale was here today to make arrangements for the burial. Mrs Ellisons death will be deeply regretted by many friends.
