Sheryl Lynn Terpening, 55, entered eternal life after a long and hard-fought battle with a very rare cancer Tuesday, August 25, 2009.

Sheryl graduated from East High School in 1972.

She loved her job at Metro Kids Care with Des Moines Public Schools. She retired early because of her health.

Sheryl loved her church and church family at New Hope Assembly of God in Urbandale. Music was her passion. She loved to play the piano and sing.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharalee and her father, Albert Robbins.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2009 at New Hope Assembly of God, 6800 Townsend Ave. in Urbandale with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church's youth missions program, Speed-the-Light or Convalescent Home for Children in Johnston, where her daughter lived and received loving care for four of her five years on this earth.
