DEBARY, FL Edmund L. Cantelli, age 85, of DeBary, FL, formerly of Quincy, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2009 peacefully at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in Orange City, FL. Edmund is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Mary (Mortenson). Also surviving are 3 sons; Edmund L. Cantelli, Jr. of Deltona, FL, Richard J. Cantelli of Rochester, MA, and Ronald J. Cantelli of Tiverton, RI. 2 daughters; Grace Johnson of DeBary, FL and Maryann Cantelli of Deltona, FL. Brother; Robert Cantelli of Morehead City, NC and Sister; Frances LaPierce of MA. Mr. Cantelli was catholic by faith, and was a member of St. Mary in Quincy, MA. Edmund retired from General Dynamic in Quincy, MA as an outside machinist. Edmund served his country during WWII in the US Navy. Mr. Cantelli enjoyed umpiring little league, high school, and college baseball and being a basketball referee; he was also an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. Funeral services for Edmund will be held on Saturday, August 29th at the Deware Funeral Home, 576 Hancock St., Quincy, MA 02170 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
