Mr. Buttle was a Lorain native and lifelong area resident.
He was employeed at U.S. Steel's Lorain-Cuyahoga Works for 40 years, retiring in 1960.
A prominent organist, Mr. Buttle played in several area churches.
He was a member of the Church of the Redeemer and the Senior Fellowship Club in Lorain.
He is survived by a son, George E. Crump of Elyria; a daughter, Mrs. William (Daisy L.) Pivacek of Elyria; three granddaughters, one great-granddaughter; a brother Richard R. of Elyria; and several neices and nephews he helped raise.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (nee Pycraft) in 1979.
Funeral arragements will be announced by the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, Lorain
