BRANTINGHAM, N.Y. — Bernard Vincent Darling, 74, of Sarasota, Fla. and Brantingham, died Aug. 17 peacefully at Tidewell Hospice House, Bradenton, Fla.

Born May 15, 1935, the son of Raymond E. and Anna M. (Kelly) Darling, he graduated in 1953 of St. Vincent de Paul High School, Syracuse, and graduated in 1957 from LeMoyne College, Syracuse, where he studied economics. He served in the Syracuse Air National Guard Reserves from 1953 to 1958.

Mr. Darling sold industrial glass for Swift Glass Co., Elmira, for over 40 years and was a part-time professional photographer in the Syracuse area. Mr. Darling was also one of four partners in Adirondack Acres, Inc. which constructed and developed Lake of the Pines in Brantingham.

Bernie enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting, and was a member of the Little Pine Creek Club, Greig, NY.

He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Claire (Hurder) Darling.

Surviving are four sons, R. Edward of Mattydale, NY; William P. and his wife, Debra, of Manalapan, NJ, Robert S. of Brantingham, NY, James M. and his wife, Lisa, of Glenville, NY, and two daughters, Aimee M. Darling of Sarasota FL, and Kelly A. (Darling) Suba and her husband, Richard of Bradenton, FL, fourteen grandchildren, and a brother, John E. Darling, of Sarasota,
